Secluded Creekfront

While not technically a new-construction project, this creekfront home required considerable renovation and a complete new design that challenged us to create a grand yet cozy family home that in no way negatively impacted the sensitive shoreline, creek and wetlands to which it is adjacent. Tasked with expanding upon a preexisting initial footprint, we designed the home to take maximum advantage of the beautiful creekfront views, with an open-concept interior that runs nearly the entire length of the first floor allowing for a great view whether in the living room, dining area or even the largely traditional kitchen space. In addition, multi-tier decks allow for an excellent use of space and, being exceptionally mindful of potential environmental impacts, we custom-designed an integrated step-down retaining wall structure on the home’s water-facing side along with integrated new septic and drainage systems designed to protect the creek and wetlands from stormwater runoff from the roof or driveway.
